The company was founded in 2024 and is based in Redwood City, California, where the team works in person five days a week. The models

DYNA-1, released in April 2025, was pitched as a commercially deployable manipulation model rather than a research artifact. In a 24-hour run it folded more than 850 napkins to restaurant standards at roughly 60% of human speed with a 99.4% success rate and no human intervention, using a learned reward model to estimate task progress and recover from errors mid-episode.

Dyna-2 followed in August 2026: a world-action model pre-trained on more than one million hours of egocentric human video, trained to denoise future video and future action chunks on a video-diffusion backbone. The company reported a human-to-robot transfer scaling law and an 87% zero-shot pass rate at customer sites against 46% for its DYNA-1 predecessor. Neither weights nor an API have been published; access is through Dyna-operated hardware.

Commercial traction

Also in August 2026, Dyna said its robots had crossed the ROI threshold and that Din Tai Fung is rolling them out across its restaurant network, which the company describes as the first time a robot foundation model developer has taken a manipulation pilot to scaled deployment. It expects a deployed fleet of hundreds of robots by the first half of 2027, counting rollouts at hotels, logistics companies and data centres. The company's own account of that work is candid about the gap between demo and product: at launch DYNA-1 produced about 480 napkins in an 18-hour shift with roughly 75% clearing the quality bar, against the 1,500 table-ready napkins per shift the customer required. Commercially, Dyna has been described as operating a robots-as-a-service model, charging a monthly per-robot fee that bundles hardware, maintenance and model updates.

Funding and position

Dyna raised a $23.5 million seed in March 2025 and a $120 million Series A in September 2025 led by CRV, First Round Capital and RoboStrategy, with NVentures, the Amazon Industrial Innovation Fund, Salesforce Ventures, Samsung Next and LG Technology Ventures participating. Reporting at the time put the post-money valuation above $600 million. It competes with other robot foundation model developers, among them Physical Intelligence, Field AI and Scout AI, though its stationary-arm, task-first positioning sits apart from the humanoid-centred part of that field.
