The escalating capital race in humanoid robotics is showing no signs of slowing down. Austin-based Apptronik is reportedly in advanced discussions to raise at least $400 million in a new funding round that would value the company at a formidable $5 billion pre-money, according to a report from The Information.

The round is said to be led by existing investor B Capital. This move comes less than a year after the company announced its substantial $350 million Series A in February 2025, a round that was co-led by B Capital and Capital Factory with participation from Google.

A new infusion of this magnitude would be a clear signal of Apptronik's aggressive push to scale production of its Apollo humanoid robot. The company has been positioning Apollo for initial applications in logistics and manufacturing, tasks that require significant capital for both hardware production and AI development.

This strategy has been evident in Apptronik's recent moves, including its strategic manufacturing partnership with Jabil announced in April, which is designed to leverage Jabil's global expertise to build the Apollo platform at scale.

The Capital-Intensive Race to Scale

Apptronik's reported $5 billion valuation places it firmly in the top tier of private humanoid robotics companies, a field where access to massive amounts of capital is seen as critical for survival. The funding landscape has become a competition in its own right:

Partnerships as a Key Differentiator

Amid this financial arms race, Apptronik has focused on building a strong ecosystem of strategic partners. The company is already running pilot programs with major industry players, including Mercedes-Benz and logistics giant GXO.

On the technology side, its collaboration with Nvidia is complemented by a key partnership with Google's DeepMind, which is integrating its Gemini AI models to enhance Apollo's reasoning and autonomous capabilities.

This latest funding effort, if successful, would provide Apptronik with the necessary "war chest" to move from pilot programs to commercial deployment, solidifying its position as a primary contender in the race to bring general-purpose humanoid robots into the workforce.
