New Entrant in Robotic Hands Market Claims Industrial-Grade Reliability and Human-Like Dexterity

SHENZHEN — Wuji Tech, a robotics company, officially announced its first product yesterday: the Wuji Hand, a high-dexterity robotic manipulator. The announcement, made via the company's social media channels, introduces a new contender in the growing market for sophisticated robotic end-effectors aimed at humanoid platforms and other advanced automation.

According to the product's technical documentation, the Wuji Hand features 20 active degrees of freedom (DOF), with four independent joints per finger. This level of articulation is designed to mimic the complexity and range of motion of a human hand, enabling it to perform intricate grasping and manipulation tasks.

The company highlights the hand's specifications, positioning it as both lightweight and robust. The unit weighs less than 600 grams and has a total length of approximately 201 mm, dimensions that are comparable to an adult human hand. Despite its low weight, it boasts a static grip load of 10 kg and can exert a fingertip force of 15 Newtons.

Reliability appears to be a key focus for Wuji Tech. The company states that the hand has undergone extensive durability testing, including internal validation of over one million cycles and a factory standard of 300,000 grasp cycles before shipping. This suggests an effort to position the product for industrial applications where long-term performance is critical.

In its introductory materials, Wuji Tech claims its goal is to achieve a "dual breakthrough" in both performance and cost, a common ambition in a field where advanced robotic hands are often prohibitively expensive.

The release of the Wuji Hand adds another option for developers in the rapidly advancing field of humanoid robotics. While the initial specifications are promising, real-world performance and pricing will ultimately determine its adoption rate. Details on cost and broader availability have not yet been publicly released.
