Yesterday was the day of AGIBOT NIGHT 2026. The 60-minute live-streamed gala, held during the Chinese Spring Festival, represents the world’s first large-scale entertainment event where humanoid robots served not as props, but as the primary performers of dance, magic, and comedy.
The event comes at a high-stakes moment for Shanghai-based AgiBot. Following a year defined by the “Great Numbers War” against rival Unitree Robotics, AgiBot is doubling down on its claim as the global leader in shipments, reporting over 5,000 units delivered by the end of 2025. By staging its own gala, the company appears to be addressing the mounting skepticism regarding whether the sector is prioritizing marketing hype over industrial utility.
The "White Moon" Collaboration
One of the highlights of the evening was a cross-dimensional musical performance featuring Elf Xuan, a hyper-realistic bionic robot from AheadForm. Developed by a team led by Yuhang Hu, Elf Xuan leverages 42 independent facial motors to achieve nuanced emotional expressions.

This appearance follows the recent evolution of AheadForm’s hyper-realistic robotic face, which recently gained a precision-engineered torso to match its micro-expression capabilities.

Beyond the social-emotional demonstration of Elf Xuan, the gala served as a public stress test for AgiBot’s diverse "mixed-fleet" strategy. The performance featured several distinct platforms operating in high-intensity, synchronized routines:
- Lingxi X2 Series: Known for agility, the X2 models performed rapid turns and synchronized dances. This platform previously demonstrated its dynamic balance by sticking a Webster flip, the first of its kind for a bipedal robot.
- Expedition A2 Series: These full-sized humanoids handled the presentation segments. The A2 recently set a record for endurance by completing a 106km autonomous trek between Suzhou and Shanghai.
- Industrial G2 Series: The industrial-grade G2 appeared alongside human dancers, demonstrating the real-time alignment and force-controlled movement required for factory-floor collaboration.

- D1 Quadruped Series: These four-legged units provided additional mobility and variety to the group routines.
As AgiBot moves toward a rumored 2026 Hong Kong IPO, the success of AGIBOT NIGHT will likely be measured not just by the fluidity of the robots' dance moves, but by whether this "cultural framing" can bridge the utility gap for a market wary of a humanoid bubble.
