Figure CEO Announces Next-Gen F.03 Humanoid is Walking
Sunnyvale, CA – Figure CEO Brett Adcock announced via a tweet on May 24th that the company's next-generation humanoid robot, F.03, is "officially walking !!!" The declaration was accompanied by Adcock's remark, "This is the most advanced hardware I’ve ever seen," signaling high expectations for the new model.
The tweet included a tantalizingly obscured image: a robot silhouette faintly visible behind a frosted glass wall and door. A sign on the glass read "F.03 BEAR CAVE Keep door closed," adding a layer of mystique to the reveal. While the image confirms the presence of the expected bipedal form, specific design details of the F.03 remain under wraps.
This development follows Figure's earlier disclosure in March 2025 that the design for its Figure 03 (F.03) robot was complete. At that time, the company emphasized that F.03 was engineered with affordability and high-volume manufacturability as key priorities, intending to leverage techniques such as injection molding and die-casting. F.03 is the designated successor to the Figure 02 model, which has been undergoing trials at BMW's Spartanburg plant and, according to Figure, recently completed a 20-hour continuous operation.
The announcement of F.03 walking, albeit without clear visual evidence presented publicly yet, suggests Figure is maintaining its rapid development pace. Achieving bipedal locomotion is a crucial milestone for any new humanoid platform. The "BEAR CAVE" moniker could hint at an internal codename or a dedicated development space for this advanced prototype.
While Adcock's enthusiastic assessment of the F.03 hardware is noteworthy, the robotics community and industry observers will likely await more detailed demonstrations and specifications. Given Figure's previous cadence of reveals, further information on F.03's capabilities and design may be forthcoming as the company progresses towards its ambitious manufacturing and deployment goals.
