Figure Teases Imminent Reveal of Next-Gen Humanoid: 'This Week, Everything Changes'

SUNNYVALE, CA – Humanoid robotics firm Figure has kicked off a high-anticipation social media campaign, strongly suggesting the full reveal of its next-generation robot is imminent. The company's CEO, Brett Adcock, ignited the speculation on Monday with a series of bold proclamations on X (formerly Twitter).

"What I’m seeing at Figure looks straight out of a sci-fi movie," Adcock posted. "What’s coming feels like the year 2050. This week, everything changes - it’s the week you’ve all been waiting for."

Following the CEO's posts, Figure's official account released a brief, 8-second teaser video (watch it at the end of the article). The clip, shot in slow motion, shows the silhouette of a sleek, bipedal robot walking from right to left behind what appears to be frosted glass. The robot's form looks predominantly white and black, and its gait appears remarkably fluid and natural.

Adcock amplified the teaser by quote-tweeting it with a simple, cinematic phrase: "This is how it begins."

The timing of the hype campaign is notable. It began on October 6th, a date that followers had previously speculated could be significant. On September 15th, Adcock tweeted a screenshot from the film Bladerunner 2049, which was released on October 6, 2017, and in which the date itself plays a role in the plot. While the connection was never confirmed, the decision to launch the reveal campaign on that specific date seems like a deliberate nod to the science fiction classic.

This upcoming reveal follows months of development on the company’s new model, which succeeds the Figure 02. The company had previously teased in May that its next-generation "F.03" humanoid was already walking. The brief glimpse in the new video, however, offers the first look at the robot's updated design and more refined locomotion.

The announcement comes as Figure continues to make progress on its commercial deployments, most notably its ongoing deployment at a BMW plant in South Carolina.

With Adcock's claims of a sci-fi-level breakthrough, the robotics and tech communities are now watching closely. The full reveal is expected to provide a clearer picture of the hardware and software advancements Figure has made and whether its new humanoid can live up to the cinematic hype.
