However, the most telling aspect of the announcement lies in its fine print: Unitree explicitly noted that the 18,000-unit count covers "Bipedal Humanoid Robot Units Across Multiple Models" and strictly excludes "other humanoid robot types and wheeled humanoid platforms."

A Calculated Move in the "Numbers War"

As Western trade barriers harden, high-volume producers like Unitree will increasingly rely on China's domestic ecosystem and friendly international markets to absorb their expanding manufacturing output.
