Figure 03 Makes White House Debut at "Fostering the Future Together" Summit

The Sunnyvale-based robotics startup Figure reached a new symbolic milestone today as its Figure 03 humanoid made a public appearance at the White House. CEO Brett Adcock described the occasion as "historic," marking the first time a humanoid robot of this class has participated in an official executive event. The appearance took place during the inaugural meeting of the "Fostering the Future Together" global coalition, an initiative focused on empowering children through technology and education.
In a video shared by Adcock, a white Figure 03 unit is seen walking side-by-side with First Lady Melania Trump through the halls of the White House. The robot demonstrated stable locomotion and integrated speech, addressing a room of attendees to express its "honor" at being part of the movement. The robot then delivered a multilingual welcome.
The Hark Connection: A New Brain for Figure
The robot’s vocal performance and reasoning capabilities are increasingly tied to Adcock’s newest venture, Hark. According to a recent Bloomberg report, Adcock funded the AI startup with $100 million of his own money to develop a "family of AI devices" for individuals and the home.
Hark’s technology is already being integrated into Figure’s hardware, replacing third-party voice systems (such as those previously provided by OpenAI) with an "omni-model" that handles speech, reasoning, and physical action simultaneously. This shift is critical as Figure moves away from hand-coded C++ heuristics toward the Helix 02 architecture, a "Software 2.0" approach that allows the robot to learn directly from data.

From Factory Floor to the East Wing
While the White House appearance focused on education and diplomacy, Figure has spent the last year proving the machine’s industrial and domestic viability. The Figure 03 represents a significant hardware maturation over the retired Figure 02 fleet, which recently completed an 11-month pilot at BMW’s Spartanburg facility.
Key technical leaps for the Figure 03 include:
- Reactive Intelligence: The robot’s ability to handle unexpected human interference, a feature recently demonstrated by Salesforce CEO Marc Benioff.
- Throughput Parity: Adcock claims the Figure 03 has reached "human parity" in package sorting, sustaining a pace of under 3 seconds per action throughout an entire shift.
- Domestic Capability: Beyond the factory, the robot has been shown autonomously tidying living rooms, using its 7th-generation hands to manipulate tools like spray bottles and cleaning cloths.
Scaling Toward "BotQ"
The White House debut serves as a powerful marketing tool for a company currently valued at $39 billion. However, the transition from carefully choreographed appearances to widespread adoption remains the ultimate test. Figure is currently scaling its Sunnyvale fleet to 24/7 autonomous operation, utilizing wireless inductive charging to eliminate human "babysitters."
Adcock’s manufacturing roadmap for 2026 targets the production of nearly 50,000 units per year at the company's "BotQ" facility. By the summer of 2026, Adcock aims to have almost no Chinese components in Figure's supply chain—a strategic move that aligns with the "made in the USA" messaging emphasized during today's White House address.
Despite the optimism, Adcock remains cautious about the robot’s readiness for "unseen" homes. He has previously admitted to monitoring the robots closely when they are around his own children, suggesting that while the hardware is ready for the world stage, the safety and reasoning layers are still undergoing rigorous refinement.
