AGIBOT (Zhiyuan Robotics)
AGIBOT (Zhiyuan Robotics) is a Shanghai-based embodied-AI company founded in February 2023 by former Huawei executives Deng Taihua and Peng Zhihui. It builds full-size and half-size bipedal humanoids (Expedition/A-series, Lingxi/X-series), wheeled industrial robots (G-series), quadrupeds and OmniHand dexterous hands, together with its own simulation, dataset and foundation-model stack. It reported its 15,000th robot produced in June 2026, 2025 revenue of 1.05 billion yuan, and began a Hong Kong IPO process on 24 July 2026.

AGIBOT — Zhiyuan Robotics (智元机器人) in Chinese — builds a multi-tier portfolio rather than a single flagship. Its hardware matrix spans full-size Expedition (远征) A-series bipeds, half-size Lingxi (灵犀) X-series humanoids, wheeled G-series industrial units and D-series quadrupeds, complemented by the OmniHand dexterous manipulation line and a C5 commercial cleaning platform. The company made its U.S. market debut at CES 2026, where it said 5,000 robots had shipped to date, and it presents the stack under a framework it calls "one robotic body, three intelligences", covering interaction, manipulation and locomotion. At MWC 2026 it opened an online storefront offering robots on a rental basis. At WAIC 2026 in Shanghai it added the A3 Ultra full-size humanoid, the X2 EDU education platform, the G2 Max heavy-payload unit and the OmniHand 3 Ultra-M hand. On the software side, this publication covered the April 2026 AI Week releases: the GO-2 foundation model, Genie Sim 3.0 and Genie Envisioner 2.0 simulators, the open-sourced AGIBOT World dataset, and the zero-code Genie Studio Agent deployment tool.
Production and commercial traction
AGIBOT's production narrative is the core of its investment case. It reported its 10,000th unit in March 2026, three months after the 5,000 mark, and its 15,000th — an industrial G2 — in June 2026. Humanoid shipments exceeded 5,100 units in 2025. Founder and chairman Deng Taihua has described revenue rising from 300,000 yuan in the company's first year to more than 60 million yuan in its second and past 1 billion yuan in 2025; the company's own disclosed 2025 figure is 1.05 billion yuan. Chinese reporting ahead of the listing notes that rapid revenue growth has come alongside continuing losses. Deployment references include Longcheer Technology's tablet lines in Nanchang, covered by this publication in April and June 2026.
Capital structure and governance
The company has completed ten funding rounds from more than 50 investors, including Tencent, BYD, HongShan, Hillhouse, LG Electronics, Mirae Asset, JD.com and SAIC, at a reported valuation above 20 billion yuan. In July 2025 it took a 63.62% stake in Shanghai-listed Swancor Advanced Materials for 2.1 billion yuan, giving it an A-share subsidiary alongside its own planned Hong Kong float; it confirmed on 24 July 2026 that the listing process had begun, with CICC, CITIC Securities and Morgan Stanley as sponsors and a cornerstone target of HK$40–50 billion. Its corporate name was updated to AgiBot Innovation (Shanghai) Technology Co., Ltd. Governance disclosure has tightened before the IPO: a nine-person partner list published on 3 August 2026 showed six members with Huawei backgrounds, while chief scientist Luo Jianlan was dropped from it, with the company saying he had been reassigned internally. Headcount is reported at roughly 1,500, about 75% in R&D.
Competitive position
AGIBOT's shipment lead — 43.1% of the 22,000-plus units counted by Counterpoint in H1 2026, ahead of Unitree — rests partly on counting wheeled and half-size platforms, a definitional dispute peers have raised. The FCC's July 2026 restrictions on imports of Chinese humanoid and quadruped robots are a direct constraint on the overseas expansion the company has been pursuing through CES, MWC and European deployments.
